Electric Deadbolts



An electric deadbolt was a device used for locking doors. It would normally mount on the header of the door and a mechanical rod would drop into a keeper mounted on the door. These locks were surface mounted or embedded inside the frame hiding the lock when the door was closed.

As per National Code, deadbolt type locks are no longer acceptable on exit doors in most applications. Most cities have adoptec the UBC (Universal Building Code) and Electromagnetic Locks, as seen below, are one of few electric locks allowed on public exit doors.
