Magstripe Reader

Magstripe readers are of the technology very much like the readers at your local ATM. A magnetic stripe is on the card and is programmed with the necessary information and then when read the information is transmitted to the processor where access will be granted as long as the card is valid for that particular entry. The technology is still used today in the security industry but is slowly being phased out by newer and more reliable technologies. Being as magnetic stripes are very prone to damage from magnetic fields and easily copied, other more secure technologies are preferred.
