Security Card Readers

Security Card readers are quite common today for gaining access to office space after hours, not just in the Houston area, but around the nation. Card readers come in several different technologies but the preferred technology is proximity where the card is presented to the card reader in a close proximity rather than swiping or inserting. A much older technology but still used today is barcode where the reader reads a barcode very similar to the barcode used in grocery stores. Other tecnologies like wiegand or magstripe where it was required to swipe the card through the reader, have given way to the proximity technology.
